These are nearly identical to Winsor and newton professional watercolors. I am shocked, and definitely will repurchase!! Yahoo!!! Will love to try new colors.

Overall the paints are fine. The tin looked worn, with some scratches, and the Prussian Blue color seemed to have a coating on it that made the color weak. Another artist suggested scrubbing with a toothbrush. After that the color was stronger. These are a good value for the price.

Phoenix professional watercolor paint is a good option for anyone looking for a great half-pan watercolor. I decided to try this brand due to the price compared to other available brands of pan watercolor. I was pleased with quick activation and the dense paint pigment. It is a little more grey with a slight blue undertone. Plus the pan fits well in the pallet tin I am using. I recommend this Paynes Gray half pan
