Skin Tone Acrylic FAQs
What is inside, how to begin, and what the evidence covers.
Six distinct Hobby Acrylic colors in six 59ml bottles: 206 Buff Titanium, 241 Light Flesh Tint, 242 Wheat, 696 Light Red Ochre, 695 Marron and 686 Umber. Total paint volume is 354ml. Brushes, palettes, easels and artwork shown are not included.
No. Think of them as useful starting colors. Mix to suit the subject, lighting and undertone; additional acrylic colors may be useful. Make a dry swatch before committing to the painting.
No. This is the Hobby Acrylic skin-tone set in 59ml bottles. It is not the Artist Heavy Body tube range and is not watercolor. Do not carry over another range’s viscosity, lightfastness or formulation claims.
This palette is intended for painted portraits and figures, including model projects. Use a clean surface and a primer appropriate to the actual model material. Test adhesion first; build thin layers as needed rather than expecting one-coat coverage on every plastic.
Yes, the neutral and earth-tone colors can be mixed for animal studies, details and other subjects. They are not a complete universal palette; add suitable colors if your subject needs them.
No. “Skin tone” describes the color palette, not a cosmetic use. Use the set on painting surfaces, not as face or body paint, and follow the bottle’s handling instructions.
Clean tools promptly with water while the paint is still wet. Keep caps closed between sessions and follow the label. Dried acrylic is harder to remove; protect clothing and work surfaces.
PHOENIX confirms that PSTAS0659 uses the same formulation covered by these documents and that they apply to this set. This is the manufacturer’s applicability confirmation, not a new test or a certificate issued under the PSTAS0659 SKU.
The 18 June 2020 EN71 report (6620)156-1334 and certificate 66201561334BVSHTY name PA2412S, a Studio Acrylic 24 × 12ml tube sample. The report records compliance for the tested EN71-1:2014+A1:2018 clauses 1–7 (with an EU importer-address note), EN71-2:2011+A1:2014 flammability and EN71-3:2019 Category II/III element migration requirements. Testing used the client-requested over-3 age category; this is not an all-age recommendation. The certificate makes CE marking conditional on the necessary technical documentation.
The revised 18 February 2020 LHAMA assessment (6620)008-0600 covers 66 Value Series Acrylic colors under adult (16+) exposure assumptions. Read the originals for their full methods, findings and limitations. These documents do not establish zero heavy metals, cosmetic suitability or guaranteed performance.
